I often work to commission and aim to make the process as simple and accessible as possible. I can paint:
I want to make commissioning a painting as easy for you as possible.
Please send me a message with some information about the size of painting you would like (or approximate size if you're not sure), the subject matter and if it is being commissioned for a special occasion.
If you would like a pet portrait, my prices are in a handy chart on my pet portraits page. Other types of commission have different requirements and will be quoted separately (see information below).
Looking forward to hearing from you.
The process for commissioning a painting varies significantly between types of commission but essentially it starts with a discussion of what you would like, a rough idea of the size you have in mind and who the painting is for. If you're not sure about anything, then please feel free to ask!

Pet portraits are normally painted from photographs supplied by clients. Animals do not make great sitters so photography is essential in this case! See my pet portrait page for more information and a full outline of the process.
Pet PortraitsIdeally, portraits of people will include at least one sitting of around half a day, although I can also work from good quality photographs. Sittings involve sketches, colour notes and photography and they help me to get to know the sitter. The final portrait can be completed in my studio after that. Prices start at £900 for a small head and shoulders study with sitting. Further details available on my portrait paintings page.
Portraits of PeoplePersonal objects can be posted by special delivery or brought to my studio in person so I can work from life when painting them. Alternatively, I may be able to work from a good quality photograph. Prices start at £225 for a small 15cm x 15cm still life.
Still Life and Personal ObjectsCommissioned floral works may take extra time as the flowers will need to be sourced and will be dependent on the time of year. I am also able to work from good quality photographs taken by the client. Prices will vary depending on the amount of research/cost of the flowers to source.
Floral PaintingsIf you are unable to collect the painting from my studio in the heart of mid Suffolk, I can get a quotation to post it by courier. The painting will need three weeks drying time before it can be packaged up and posted. I will get the best quotation to post your painting safely and will let you know the postage fee.
Alternatively, collection is available for people who are local to Suffolk.

I do not currently offer landscape paintings so if you would like a painting of a landscape or a building, then it will be best to find another artist who specialises in those subjects.
The most common type of commission I am asked to do is for a bespoke oil painting of your dog, cat or horse.
See all my information and pricing for pet portraits here.
I am always happy to discuss the type of work you would like to commission so please feel free to contact me to discuss your requirements further.
